Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment & Treatment
Mental Health Treatment
There are many forms of treatment that can be provided once a diagnosis has been made following your mental health assessment. Treatment options will be discussed and finalised in collaboration with the patient with the aim of reducing symptoms and improving the person’s quality of life
rTMS
rTMS is a non-invasive treatment option used to treat depression, psychosis, anxiety, and other disorders. rTMS uses a method where specific brain regions that regulate mood are targeted with short electrical pulses. These pulses increase activity in the brain allowing brain cells to connect more effectively with each other. This has been found to significantly reduce depression and improve mood.
Medication
Based on your mental health assessment medication can be helpful for your disorder as it can improve your symptoms significantly. But it is important to note that medication does not cure the disorder. Psychiatric medication can also enhance other treatments such as psychotherapy. The medication prescribed will be based on your personal diagnosis and your body’s response to the medication.
Psychology (Signposting if indicated)
Psychological treatments can be used to treat your diagnosed disorder through psychotherapy and other forms of therapy. The treatment for your disorder is very personal as different forms of therapy target specific disorders. It may take a couple of weeks to a year to see the full benefits of psychotherapy but the positive effects on your mental health are long-lasting.
